SpaceScan09 #25: We Are The Storm and Black Rose Trick
Categories: Denmark • Features • Rock • Sweden

For some reason this twenty-fifth SpaceScan is all about melancholy (perhaps my sub-conscience is trying to tell me something?!), presenting two bands who play in the darker regions of rock. First up are Danish lo-fi ‘n shoegaze duo Black Rose Trick, second austere Swedish post-punk six piece We Are The Storm.

It’s probably not entirely coincidental that Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Suicide and David Lynch are among this Danish duo’s top friends on MySpace. Black Rose Trick aka Trine Berg Arnoldus and Jacob Falk move in beautiful, lo-fi shoegaze, adding the fuzz of the first two to their bleak, Lynch-like universe, painted by Ms Arnoldus’ frail vocal.

We Are The Storm (SE)
Hailing from Uppsala in Sweden this six piece are travelers in austere post-punk á la Interpol and Editors. We Are The Storm might not do anything new, but they know their way around songwriting and they will capture melancholic rock souls. Two songs are available on MySpace, but why settle for that when you can get their EP for free HERE!

WHO DO YOU THINK EVERYBODY SHOULD HEAR?
Although we spend a lot of time out there, we can’t claim to have heard every band on MySpace, so please feel free to recommend bands – Scandinavian, of course – you think everybody deserve to hear. We do reserve the right not to feature your band(s), but we guarantee to check them out. Drop links to: spacescan (a) allscandinavian.com
