SpaceScan09 #32: A Key Is A Key and Donkeyboy
Categories: Denmark • Features • Norway • Pop • Rock

Another Friday, another SpaceScan – this week presenting two very different acts in pop sensation Donkeyboy, who’ve taken their native Norway by storm, and Danish poetry-folk quartet A Key Is A Key, sporting a singer sounding like a crossbreed between Leonard Cohen and Antony Hegarty. With that I’ll leave it up to you to read, listen and perhaps head on over to their respective MySpaces.
A Key Is A Key (DK)
Found these Danes through a friend on Facebook (apparently they can be good for something) and couldn’t help but be drawn in by their, at times quite theatrical, poetry-folk, sporting a singer (either Michael Love Rexen or Nico Love) sounding like a crossbreed between Leonard Cohen and Antony Hegarty. Check them out…

Donkeyboy (NO) (Photo)
They’ve taken their native Norway by storm with their first single ‘Ambitions’. It’s crispy clean and very competent, synthy and very 80s pop that seems destined for greatness. Donkeyboy release their debut this fall and are not giving away much in the meantime. One song and two videos on their MySpace is all, but it’s enough to give you an idea.

WHO DO YOU THINK EVERYBODY SHOULD HEAR?
Although we spend a lot of time out there, we can’t claim to have heard every band on MySpace, so please feel free to recommend bands – Scandinavian, of course – you think everybody deserve to hear. We do reserve the right not to feature your band(s), but we guarantee to check them out. Drop links to: spacescan (a) allscandinavian.com
