Jong Pang: Love
Categories: Albums • Denmark • Rock

He’s moving fast, Jong Pang aka ex-Moon Gringo Anders Rhedin. Last year he released his debut ‘Bright White Light’ and already he’s got a, in my humble opinion, bigger and better followup ready. ‘Love’ is the title and mainly melancholic essence, and compared to the debut he’s upped the auditory ambitions with stunning results.
Perhaps this change has in part been brought about producing Choir Of Young Believers’ lauded debut ‘This Is For The White In Your Eyes’ before entering the studio to record his own material. I don’t know, but fact is that although the two are not immediately comparable there is a common denominator in their delicate grandiosity.
Defining tracks are single duo ‘Walls Fall Down’ and ‘Liar Liar’, but as a whole ‘Love’ impresses and excites with a more extrovert, sweeping choir- and string-heavy soundscape without losing the left-field pop charm that made Jong Pang one to fall in love with in the first place.
