Tour de MySpace continues, this week presenting two completely different acts. Seriously, the only thing they have in common is that it is music. First up Danish trio Rising, who kicks asses with their no-brainer, old-school metal, and then Icelandic one man act Kippi Kaninus, who mocks about subtle, weird and melodic organic electronica. They may not reinvent metal, but Rising sure as hell kicks ass and pretty much anything else they can get their boots on. The Danish trio just released an EP with four tracks of no-bullshit, old school, NWOBHM-ish metal. Rising don’t do much, but works – just check out the track ‘Dead Kings’: Great guitar riff, thunderous vocals, solid drumming and a nice shouty chorus. It doesn’t have to be more complicated than that. (TB)

Kippi Kaninus (ISL)
And now to something completely different: Guðmundur Vignir Karlsson aka Kippi Kaninus, based in Reykjavik, Iceland, works in – at times mysterious – organic electronica ways. Imaginative is another term fit to apply, as he is probably the only artist in history to have mic’ed an apple from the inside and then used the sound it created when eating it. It’s subtle, melodic, weird and fun and his latest effort, ‘Happens Secretly’, is released internationally October 8 via Brainlove Records. (PK)
