Q&A: Staireo – Satisfying needs
Categories: Features • Rock • Sweden

As one half of SpaceScan09 #34 Swedish quartet Staireo had me going with their superbly poppy indierock. They’ve just added the finishing touches to their third album, including a title, which will be released later this year. To follow up on my ramblings here’s guitarist Coma giving us the lowdown on Staireo.
Who?
“We are James, Coma, Sebastian and David. We’ve just finished our new album, which we have decided to call ‘One of All’. Hopefully it will stay that way. We have played together for about ten years.”
Where?
“Skövde and Lidköping, two small towns in Sweden close to the lake Vänern. We usually play our gigs around there, but we’ve also been to Japan a couple of times, since we’ve got two albums released over there. And hopefully we’ll go there again when the new album is released.”
What?
“Pop and rock, mostly with catchy melodies, based on a lot of “soul”. Reverb and echo.”
Why?
“To satisfy the need we have to play together.”
