Q&A: The Psyke Project – Getting ready to kick ass
Categories: Denmark • Features • Metal

Way back in August Danish metal outfit The Psyke Project released their fourth album, ‘Dead Storm’, to massive critical acclaim (yes, it really is that good). Right now guitarist Christian Bono Bonnesen is in the process of preparing himself for the band’s upcoming tour, which involves punching himself, cursing TV – and answering ALL SCANDINAVIAN’s ever-so-tough questionnaire.
Who?
“Christian from The Psyke Project. Right now sitting in my underwear, listening to High On Fire, smoking a cigarette and trying to remember what happened past 3AM last Saturday. Pretty eventful if you ask me. Back to the band The Psyke Project. We have just released our fourth album called ‘Dead Storm’. We like it and so should you!”
Where?
“In the glorious suburbs of Copenhagen, mentally preparing for our upcoming Danish tour. This happens through a series of rituals, all of them involving me punching my liver while yelling: ”GET USED TO IT, GET USED TO IT!”. That is probably the best advice I could give young and aspiring musicians. Well, not if they are straight edge. Wait… Screw that, do it anyway.”
What?
“… have we been up to? Besides being locked up in our rehearsal room, honing our musical skills and writing some new stuff, we’ve been busy with preparing for our release and getting ready to kick ass and take names on the road.”
Why?
“The reason I do this is because I had the idea that playing music would get me hordes of chicks (Damn you TV!!). When that proved wrong I figured that I might as well get good at it.”
