SpaceScan08 #5: Dead By Gun, Dísa and Ginger Ninja
Categories: Denmark • Features • Finland • Iceland • Pop • Rock

SpaceScan número cinco visits Finland, Iceland and Denmark in our never ending search for new musical experiences for you to enjoy. This week we offer up edgy pop-rock, raw punk and singer-songwriter pop, courtesy of Ginger Ninja, Dead By Gun and Dísa. Get comfy, read, click and enjoy.
Ginger Ninja (DK)
This Danish quartet, formed just last year, has already stirred the underground and have pretty much every label chasing them for a signature. It’s understandable why the executives smell blood, because Ginger Ninja’s excellently edgy pop-rock, fit for both MTV and those with a, shall we say, more acquired taste (no offense intended in either case), sure sound destined for bigger things with song ‘Soldiers’ as spearhead in the campaign. Dísa (ISL) (Photo)
Young Icelandic singer/songwriter Dísa (20) released her eponymous debut earlier this year in collaboration with Faroese singer Teitur, a debut that received great reviews and spawned a couple of radio hits. Lyrically she’s personal as the singer/songwriter code dictates, musically she’s pop with a great sense of melody and mood. Oh, and her voice is just one to fall in love with. (PK)
Dead By Gun (SF)
Finnish Dead By Gun just released their new album ‘Pulse’ which is pretty damn good. DBG plays punk rock as it is supposed to be: Loud, fast, simple and very much in your face. We highly recommend the track ‘Reign of Bullets’ – a perfect soundtrack for a night of alcohol, partying and total mayhem. (TB)

WHO DO YOU THINK EVERYBODY SHOULD HEAR?
Although we spend a lot of time out there, we can’t claim to have heard every band on MySpace, so please feel free to recommend bands – Scandinavian, of course – you think everybody deserve to hear. We do reserve the right not to feature your band(s), but we guarantee to check them out. Drop MySpace-links to: spacescan@allscandinavian.com
