The final SpaceScan of 2009 is rather melancholic, so consider yourself warned. It is good, though, as we present the unsigned Danish indie-folk quintet Caspian & The Good Times and the recently signed Swedish singer/songwriter Jonas Schwartz. Like the 51 Fridays before this it’s all about reading, listening and then clicking your way on to MySpace.

It’s cold and snowy in Denmark these days, and if I’d had a fireplace I would be curled up in front of it with Caspian & The Good Times on the stereo. Founded by Caspian Christiansen and Tobias Øhrstrøm Poulsen on a cross-Asia trip in 2004 the melancholic indie-folk quintet are just perfect for contemplative moments involving looking into fires, and hopefully they’ll release a debut something in 2010.

Jonas Schwartz (SE)
Someone who will be releasing his music in 2010 is Gothenburg based singer/songwriter Jonas Schwartz, who deliver big emotions in stripped down arrangements carried by his very expressive, characteristic vocal which reminds me a little of England’s Merz. Schwartz recently signed to Adore Music who will print and push three singles next year, but I don’t know if either will be one of the two great songs streaming on MySpace.
