It’s Friday and therefore time for another installment in the SpaceScan series, the short trips around the vast MySpace designed to bring you new musical experiences. This week we bring you the excellent poptronica of Norway’s Casiokids and the future of Danish electronica, Electrojuice. The rules are simple: Read, click and enjoy!

Casiokids (NO)
Armed with old analogue synths and a digital shadow puppet theatre Norwegian poptronica outfit Casiokids dish out charmingly naïve, at times almost childish, but always great pop, build on the very Scandinavian understated humor. As when they in ‘Grønt Lys I Alle Ledd’ with a lazy falsetto ask, what men everywhere have been asking forever: “Would it be okay to sleep with your best friend?”. When they use words, they are Norwegian, but that hasn’t stopped UK label Moshi Moshi from signing Casiokids and releasing double A-sided single ‘Grønt Lys I Alle Ledd/Togens Hule’ on October 27 (the first ever Norwegian language pop single released in the UK) – and it shouldn’t stop you from checking this great band out.

Rumors about Danish electro-duo Electrojuice started circulating last year and in 2008 it grew into a full blown hype. Reason: For one their impressive skills, second their age. Today just 14 and 15 years old (many have thought their age was a joke, ‘cause surely no one this young could be this good) Mads Lund Kolding and Jakob Torp Littauer are one of the most wanted remix crews in Denmark, already having coated VETO, Lulu Rouge and When Saints Go Machine in their dark, crackling and aggressive sound. Electrojuice have made their entire production available for free download and if you dig electronica I strongly encourage you to jump on the wagon.
