Cloncecircle: Behind The Wire
Categories: Albums • Denmark • Metal

Martin Hellgren, lead vocalist of Danish metallers Clonecircle, doesn’t have a great voice in the classical sense of the word. To be perfectly honest he shouts more than he actually sings. However, Hellgren has got personality, and personality goes a long way. That goes for the rest of the band as well.
Clonecircle dabbles in industrial and goth metal and sounds like a depressed clone of Rammstein, Marilyn Manson, early Paradise Lost and a few others, yet besides the at times obvious influences the Danish quartet manage to have a sound of their own: Lots of industrial beats, heavy-as-hell guitar riffs, misanthropic lyrics, melancholic melodies and the aforementioned Martin Hellgren doing his angry bear impersonation on top of it all.
A sweet breaker from all the testosterone-ladden darkness is the track ‘Thunder And The Rain’ – a nice, slow-paced duet with an excellent elfish woman mysteriously credited as “Winni” in the CD booklet – but it’s all pretty awesome actually!
