Bengtsarvet – Slutet
Categories: Rock • Sweden • Tracks

Honestly I’m not the biggest fan of doing research. I like when information’s served on a platter – preferably silver – in easily digestible sittings, because I like having it, well, easy. However, recently I received an email simply saying: “This is Swedish Bengtsarvet. You should be able to guess who we really are with a little bit of research.”
All I came up with is that Bengtsarvet – besides being a trio, who are opening for Japan’s Mono on their European tour in March and April – is a small town (suggested by the photo above, a photo they call their press picture) and the site of the biggest Viking age gravesite in Dalarna dated to 800-1050 AD, so I wrote them back asking who they really are. This is their response:
“Just because you are the only one who’s really asked flat out, we should tell you. But… naaa. We hold on to that a little while. We can tell you that a video is being recorded in this very moment.”
Bastards! Anyway, they were kind enough to attach the one song Bengtsarvet got out and about, ‘Slutet’ (“The End” or “Ending”), and I’m happy to share these delightfully depressing nine minutes of instrumental synth-postrock with you.
