SpaceScan10 #9: Black City and Degrees
Categories: Denmark • Features • Pop • Rock • Sweden

Our SpaceScan series continues, this Friday presenting Danish quartet Black City, who dabble in punkish rock’n’roll similar to acts like Foo Fighters and Skambankt, and Swedish duo Degrees, who dish out shoegaze electropop with a Pet Shop Boys feel. Check them out, let us know what you think, and then have a splendid weekend.
Black City (DK)
R’n’R with a punk-ish feel to it – similar to acts like Foo Fighters and Skambankt – is what new Danish band Black City are all about. You know what they are? They are great. The punksters are recording their debut album as we speak (or writing and reading if you want to be nitpicky) which will be released by Universal later this year.

Degrees (SE) (Photo)
Five Fridays in a row (this being the third) Swedish duo Degrees release a new song from their third demo, aptly titled ‘Demo pt. 3’, on MySpace and Bandcamp, and if you’re in to shoegaze electropop with a Pet Shop Boys feel, Mikael Jacobson and Rickard Folke are your new best friends. On Bandcamp you can also check out their first two demos of which ‘Demo pt. 2’ is available as free download.

WHO DO YOU THINK EVERYBODY SHOULD HEAR?
Although we spend a lot of time out there, we can’t claim to have heard every band on MySpace, so please feel free to recommend bands – Scandinavian, of course – you think everybody deserve to hear. We do reserve the right not to feature your band(s), but we guarantee to check them out. Drop links to: spacescan (a) allscandinavian.com
