SpaceScan10 #11: Sibling Sense and Yagya
Categories: Electronica • Features • Iceland • Rock • Sweden

Two “not really related” Scandinavian acts in one sitting has been a theme in several of the past Friday SpaceScans. It is again, this one presenting Swedish melodic and dirty rock trio Sibling Sense and Icelandic one-man dub techno army Yagya aka Aðalsteinn Guðmundsson. Regular readers should know the drill by now, but to any and all new here it is again: Read, listen, enjoy!
Sibling Sense (SE)
I was tipped about this Swedish trio a while back and have been meaning to mention them ever since because, well, I like it. Nows the time and I think you should join me in liking Stockholm trio Sibling Sense, brothers Peder and Henrik Ribbing, both guitar and vocals, and drummer Johan Svard, and their grandiose, melodic rock tipping hats to Muse and Kent, and dark, dirty rock with roots in grunge.

On top of the great pleasure I get from presenting Scandinavian music to you, dear reader, are my own discoveries in the process; one being Icelandic Yagya aka Aðalsteinn Guðmundsson. He’s a decade and three albums in, latest ‘Rigning’ from 2009, and I’m really glad I stumbled across him recently as his deep, dreamy dub techno just hits all the right notes with me.

WHO DO YOU THINK EVERYBODY SHOULD HEAR?
Although we spend a lot of time out there, we can’t claim to have heard every band on MySpace, so please feel free to recommend bands – Scandinavian, of course – you think everybody deserve to hear. We do reserve the right not to feature your band(s), but we guarantee to check them out. Drop links to: spacescan (a) allscandinavian.com
