A year and a fortnight ago 21 year-old Sebastian Lind was featured here on ALL SCANDINAVIAN for the first time in our SpaceScan series with our expectations set to high. Today he releases his eponymous debut album, and he does nothing to shame these expectations with this generally impressive first effort.

Written and produced by Lind, with Frederik Tao (The William Blakes, Outlandish etc) as co-producer, it is an intriguingly catchy blend of singer/songwriter acoustics, crackling electro and a little jazz, sporting heartache balladry (‘Cecilie’, ‘Stay’, ‘Unseen’), driving electropop (‘Stop These Feet’) and combinations of the two (‘Wait And See’), always with his passionate vocal adding a longing melancholy to the songs.

There is a bit of a soft middle on this debut, but there’s no denying that Sebastian Lind is a remarkable talent and a pop natural. One for the future – and the future looks bright.
