Pretty Maids: Pandemonium
Categories: Albums • Denmark • Metal

Pretty Maids is Danish music’s equivalent to Clint Eastwood. They have been around forever, they will never go away and they are still damn cool. The veteran metallers release their thirteenth album today, which in itself is quite an accomplishment, but what is even more impressing is that the not-quite-young rockers sound like they are still aching to get on the road, smash guitars (and hotel rooms) and have a party.
The metal Godfather Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Raunchy, Mercenary, The Burning) has been turning the knobs on ‘Pandemonium’ so the production is impeccable and even though they sound like the Maids have always sounded, the band that formed while Ronald Reagan took over office from Jimmy Carter somehow manage to sound quite fresh.
‘Pandemonium’ is easily Pretty Maids’ best album in a decade and oozes leather pants, foot-on-monitors, everything-turned-up-to-11, guitar wielding fun.
DISCLAIMER: This positive review obviously has nothing to do with the fact that the record company treated us to two of the most awesome pieces of merchandise in rock history: Pretty Maids underpants and specially brewed ‘Little Drops Of Heaven’-beers.
