On the Meadow with Andreas Lundgren, Riff Knives and Hari And Aino

Guest blogger Pär Berglund from Meadow Music continue being inspired and thus the June edition of On the Meadow features three bands. Well, two bands and a solo artist to be exact, presenting Andreas Lundgren, Hari And Aino and Riff Knives who do rock, pop and hip hop respectively. Check them out and let us know what you think.
Andreas Lundgren’s latest album ‘Bad Buddha’ came out a couple of years ago, and a new is in the pipeline. However, since it’s hard to sit and wait for the new one, and since he’s gotten too little attention, I thought it was a great idea to cast a little light on this hidden gem.
Andreas was on the road to ”greatness” with the album ‘Green Loafers & Husky Freaks’ in the late nineties, with labels and US promotion and everything, but it all came crashing down on him and he even managed to get himself banned from the USA (hence the name of his website: bannedfromusa.com).
Years later he released the brilliant ‘Bad Buddha’ where he exercised some of the coolest vocals I’ve heard together with his own mix of rock, pop, folk, Indian music and many other influences. It’s an album of darkness and light, beauty and harshness, joy and sorrow. It’s available for download at his website and here’s ‘Breathing Gas’:

Hari And Aino (photo) are, maybe not the opposite, but definitely something completely different. Light, airy pop somewhere between Aberfeldy and Belle And Sebastian with a touch of Blondie. Melodic and easygoing they continued their journey this spring with the new EP ‘All That Remains’. Here’s ‘On My Usual Catch Up With Cecilia’:

Lastly we have Riff Knives, who play a mixture of hip hop, funk and rock that got me interested. Inspired by N*E*R*D, Looptroop and Infinite Mass and sporting a lot of attitude and cool hooks, they managed to draw my attention to a genre I don’t normally listen to. Watch out for these guys. Here’s ‘Rattle For Fame’:
