We’re taking it a bit slow these days, feeling we’ve deserved a little time off, but here’s another installment of From the Inbox presenting tracks (again including freebies) by Delay Trees, The Kissaway Trail, Teitur and three Familjen remixes plus videos by Them Bird Things, For a Minor Reflection and (again) Familjen. Check it out, go download and share it with your friends.
DELAY TREES (SF) (Photo)
Last year Finnish quartet Delay Trees excited with their debut release ‘Soft Construction EP’, which landed them a deal with Johanna Kustannus. A full length album is in the works – according to plan it will be out in September – but already you can get a taste of the album I have really high expectations to with the great, free single ‘Cassette 2012’. Check it out here and the go download it.

FOR A MINOR REFLECTION (ISL)
A while back a new campaign was launched to highlight the many splendid things in Iceland, i.e. music and nature, and draw tourists to the island. Inspired by Iceland it’s called and they’ve created a massive video project including music videos with Retro Stefson, Hjaltalín and For a Minor Reflection performing in various picturesque locations. Here’s the latter playing their new song ‘Dansi Dans’ in a place called Hellnar on the shore of Iceland.

THE KISSAWAY TRAIL (DK)
Back in March orchestral pop outfit The Kissaway Trail released their excellent second full length ‘Sleep Mountain’, and recently they put out the six song EP ‘New Lipstick’, named after and including a song from aforementioned album. Also on the EP are two B-sides (‘Pick Up The Phone’ and ‘Agyness Deyn’), a Klangrum remix of ‘Beat Your Heartbeat’ and two BBC live recordings of ‘Philadelphia’ and ‘SDP’ (also from ‘Sleep Mountain’), the latter in the player.

However, for the sake of variation in this post, here’s the video for ‘När Planeterna Stannat’.

TEITUR (FO)
Faroese singer/songwriter Teitur is currently putting the finishing touches on the followup to 2008s success album ‘The Singer’. The new, yet untitled, album will be released worldwide October 4, and now first single ’You Never Leave LA’ – a melancholic piece of pop portraying a love/hate affair with Los Angeles – is out and about.

THEM BIRD THINGS (SF)
Last year Finnish rockers Them Bird Things released their excellent debut ‘Fly, Them Bird Things, Fly!’ with songs by 60s garage outfit Mike & The Ravens main men Michael Brassard and Stephen Blodgett. Come August their sophomore effort, ‘Wildlike Wonder’, will be released and here’s the video for first single ‘Underground’, directed by American filmmaker Lawrence Dolkart (Rage Against The Machine, Jet, David Bowie etc).
