Coming up: A truckload of goodness in the shape of tracks and videos, the first courtesy of Vinnie Who, I’m A Lion, The William Blakes, Eumig & Chinon, Rubik and Pintandwefall (the last two offering free EPs), and the latter courtesy of Jasmine Kara, Britta Persson, Southside Stalkers, Skambankt and Yamon Yamon. And finally Roskilde Festival will hit Stockholm later this month – read more on that at the end of this edition of From the Inbox. Dig in…
VINNIE WHO (DK) (Photo)
August 30 Vinnie Who will release his yet untitled debut album. Already three singles are out and about, latest ‘Remedy’, which is a great shot of funky disco complete with maniacal strings and octave-bass.
JASMINE KARA (SE)
Singer Jasmine Kara is of Swedish and Iranian descent, living in New York, and she’s got her debut album ‘Blues Ain’t Nothing But A Good Woman Gone Bad’ out in Sweden now. It’s sweet, soulful rhythm & blues and here’s the video for second single ‘Try My Love Again’, directed by Simeon Frohm. Oh, and don’t miss the video for the cool cover of Etta James’ ‘In The Basement’. You’ll find that here!
RUBIK (SF)
If you’ve been around this site before, you may know that I was quite excited about Finnish rockers Rubik’s sophomore effort ‘Dada Bandits’. Now they got the free six song EP ‘Data Bandits’ available for download, sporting three original songs, a grand cover of compatriots Disco Ensemble’s ‘We Might Fall Apart’ and two remixes of ‘Dada Bandits’ single ‘Wasteland’.

BRITTA PERSSON (SE)
I must admit that I haven’t been aware of Swedish singer Britta Persson until now, but on the back on this video for ‘Meet A Bear’, lead single off her forthcoming third full length ‘Current Affair Medium Rare’, I’m definitely gonna check up on her.
THE WILLIAM BLAKES (DK)
The excellent art rockers The William Blakes have a new album coming out (I haven’t been able to find a title or a release date), and building up they’ve released this great pop single titled ‘Caves And Light’.

YAMON YAMON (SE)
In January Swedish indierock quartet Yamon Yamon released their debut album ‘The Wilderlessness’ and a few weeks ago they let the video for first single ‘The Darker Place’ loose on the internet. Here it is, shot and edited by Robin Lantz and Christoffer Öberg-Runfors, and if you like the song you can download it and exclusive B-side ‘You Are So Clothes To My Heart’ for free through Bandcamp.

EUMIG & CHINON (DK)
Late last year we featured French house inspired electronica whiz Eumig & Chinon aka Christian Kastbjerg in our SpaceScan series, and now the Dane has released his four track debut, ‘Crash EP’. It’s aggressively funky, yet awesomely catchy, and if there’s any justice the title track featuring French singer Jules Foisy will be a late summer hit.
SKAMBANKT (NO)
In September our favorite shouty Norwegians Skambankt will release their fourth full length album, and we look very much forward to it. First single ‘Mantra’ has been out and about for a while now, and here’s the video for said rocker.
I’M A LION (SE)
December last year Swedish electropop duo I’m A Lion released an eponymous five track demo EP (check it and more out on Bandcamp), and right now they’re offering the grand Robert Lundgren remix of ‘A Humble Apology’ from said EP in exchange for a little information.

SOUTHSIDE STALKERS (SE)
A little over a year ago I featured Swedish duo Southside Stalkers in our SpaceScan series, who charmed me at first listen with their jingly, tongue-in-cheek 60s pop. Recently they put out this video for the great song ‘Robert Downey Jr.’, directed by Ryan Tebo.
PINTANDWEFALL (SF)
Back in May I gave you the lowdown on Finnish girl quartet Pintandwefall’s great third album ‘Hong Kong, Baby’. Now they’ve got a free EP titled ‘Roy Peter Mike And Ken, Baby’ available for download, featuring seven short shots of their cross-genre fun-rock.
