SpaceScan10 #34: Crying Day Care Choir and Endless Dark
Categories: Alternative • Features • Iceland • Metal • Sweden

The two acts in this week’s SpaceScan work in very different ways. Icelandic six-piece Endless Dark dish out hard hitting pop-metal sharing characteristics with Swedish quintet Dead by April, while Crying Day Care Choir (SE) excel in alternative pop with a folksy touch. As usual all you have to do is check them out, perhaps let us know what you think, and then have a grand weekend.

They’re from Iceland, there’s six of them, and they work in the same field between hard hitting metal and feel-good pop as Swedish sensation Dead By April. Endless Dark are currently putting the finishing touches on their debut EP, and we can only hope they’ve decided to include the awesome ‘Cold, Hard December’ (in the player).

Crying Day Care Choir (SE)
Hailing from Malmö, Sweden, Crying Day Care Choir work in alternative pop with a folksy touch and great vocal harmonies. The quartet (three guys and a girl, the guys all members of indie-folk outfit Monde Yeux) is brand new, unsigned and have three songs streaming on MySpace, including the great ‘July’ (in the player).

WHO DO YOU THINK EVERYBODY SHOULD HEAR?
Although we spend a lot of time out there, we can’t claim to have heard every band on MySpace, so please feel free to recommend bands – Scandinavian, of course – you think everybody deserve to hear. We do reserve the right not to feature your band(s), but we guarantee to check them out. Drop links to: spacescan (a) allscandinavian.com
