A PLEASANT DREAM COMPILATION
Recently I was approached by Sergio from A Pleasant Dream, a blog in Spanish dedicated to Nordic pop, telling me about his new A Pleasant Dream Compilation – Volume 4.0 sporting an impressive 114 songs by 113 artists. Obviously that’s too many to name here, so I’ll just play you ‘Drunk Love’ by Norway’s Nils Bech in collaboration with Krazy Fiesta Arkestra from Sweden and then leave you to download the A Pleasant Dream Compilation.
UNDERWATER SLEEPING SOCIETY (SF) (Photo)
This year Finnish indierock outfit Underwater Sleeping Society celebrate their tenth anniversary, and to this end they’ve created a free EP sporting eight back catalogue gems spanning their ten years as a band plus this new animated video (made by Pasi Tamminen) for ‘Accidents’ off their grand album ‘The Dead Vegas’.
Check out the video here and the go download ’43 EP’.
AUTOFICTION (DK)
Danish electronica duo Autofiction aka Kirstine Fogh Vindelev and Jeppe Harboe Ilskov are currently working on their full length debut, but right now they have two songs pleasingly reacquainting us with the Bristol ruled trip hop 1990s available for free. Check out ‘Liquid’ in the player below and download both here!
FAMILJEN (SE)
Back in July I spoke highly of Familjen’s excellent sophomore effort ‘Mänskligheten’ and a couple of weeks ago this video for single ‘Det Var Jag’, directed by Mats Udd, was released. Familjen play Popkomm next week and soon an extensive fall tour will be announced.
VOLBEAT (DK)
Come September 10 Volbeat will release their new album titled ‘Beyond Hell/Above Heaven’ in Germany followed by the rest of Europe three days later. First single ‘Fallen’ is out and about (in the player) and if you join the Volbeat fan club Rebels & Angels or sign up for their newsletter you’ll get an exclusive medley of some of the highlights on the new album. You can do either (or both) at volbeat.dk.
BETA SATAN (DK)
A couple of weeks ago Danish quintet Beta Satan released this cool video for ‘Let’s Talk About Sex’, taken from their awesome debut ‘Girls’ (2008) and created by BS-drummer Klaus “Q” Hedegaard Nielsen and Kevin N. Andersen, who’s followed the band around for the past couple of years with his camera. Beta Satan are currently working on an EP slated for release early next year. Looking forward to that…
LASSE PASSAGE (NO)
Two Friday’s ago Norwegian alternative pop trio Philco Fiction were part of our SpaceScan, which prompted their Kennel Collective partner Lasse Passage to get in touch. The Norwegian singer/songwriter released his debut album ‘If You Don’t Have Time To Cook, You Don’t Have Time To Live’ last year and it’s well worth checking out (e.g. at gogoyoko.com). Here’s a taste in the shape of ‘I Have Seen’.
