SpaceScan10 #35: The New Heartaches and The Ghost
Categories: Denmark • Faroe Islands • Features • Pop • Rock

The thirty-fifth SpaceScan of 2010 presents two bands, who have both recently released their debut albums. First up is electro-indie-pop duo The Ghost from the Faroe Islands, and they’re followed by Danish rock quartet The New Heartaches. You know the drill: Read, listen, hopefully enjoy and then head on to their respective corners of MySpace for more. Have a great weekend.

I first came across Faroese electro-indie-pop duo The Ghost aka Filip Mortensen and Urbanus Olsen at Iceland Airwaves back in 2008 and this June they released their debut album ‘War Kids’. Three songs plus a remix of first single ‘City Lights’ (in the player) are streaming on MySpace and it sounds great. (PK)

The New Heartaches (DK)
Danish quartet The New Heartaches have just released their debut album ‘Deny Deny Deny’ – a fine collection of garagerock and powerpop tunes with a trashy sound but instantly catchy choruses. Indeed worth a couple of minutes of your time. (TB)

WHO DO YOU THINK EVERYBODY SHOULD HEAR?
Although we spend a lot of time out there, we can’t claim to have heard every band on MySpace, so please feel free to recommend bands – Scandinavian, of course – you think everybody deserve to hear. We do reserve the right not to feature your band(s), but we guarantee to check them out. Drop links to: spacescan (a) allscandinavian.com
