SpaceScan08 #14: Agent Fresco and Ruhan Daisy
Categories: Denmark • Features • Iceland • Rock

The last SpaceScan in November serves up two delicious treats for fans of progressive (pop)rock. Equally gifted both Icelandic Agent Fresco and Danish Ruhan Daisy can’t but impress with their musical abilities and great songs, which are as catchy as they are challenging. Now get ready to dig two new bands…
Agent Fresco (ISL) (Photo)
From Reykjavik, Iceland, comes this quartet excelling in progressive rock. Agent Fresco recently won the Icelandic heat of Global Battle Of The Bands and will head to London mid-December to compete in the world finals of the competition. Around the same time they will release their debut EP, ‘Lightbulb Universe’, from which two songs are available on their MySpace (pay special attention to brilliant ‘Eyes Of A Cloud Catcher’). It’s hard ‘n funky with a little jazz in the mix and darn catchy.
Ruhan Daisy (DK)
Danish quintet Ruhan Daisy are not entirely unlike Agent Fresco, working with impressive sense of detail in their grandiose, funky and catchy mathpop. They’ve recently released their second EP, ‘Sama’, and for fans of the progressive take on rock there should be no way around Ruhan Daisy, especially in trio ‘Urban Sleepwalk’, ‘We Know You’ and ‘How Bold Can Vultures Be’, the latter from debut EP ‘Amphibian’.

WHO DO YOU THINK EVERYBODY SHOULD HEAR?
Although we spend a lot of time out there, we can’t claim to have heard every band on MySpace, so please feel free to recommend bands – Scandinavian, of course – you think everybody deserve to hear. We do reserve the right not to feature your band(s), but we guarantee to check them out. Drop links to: spacescan@allscandinavian.com
