SpaceScan10 #49: The Go-Go Darkness and The Olympics
Categories: Alternative • Denmark • Features • Iceland • Pop

The SpaceScan two this Friday really are quite different. First up is Danish quintet The Olympics, who do grandiose pop and will release their debut album next year, and they are followed by Icelandic duo The Go-Go Darkness, who released an eponymous debut with their dark and psychedelic electro-punk late last year. Enjoy both and then have a great weekend.

They’ve signed to cool label Speed Of Sound (The William Blakes, The Informations, Are We Brothers? etc) not too long ago, and according to plan The Olympics will release their debut album early next year. The first, grandiose and Tears For Fears-tinged pop single ‘Bollywood’ (in the player) have me expect good things.

The Go-Go Darkness (ISL)
Icelandic duo The Go-Go Darkness aka Singapore Sling main man Henrik Björnsson and his spouse Elsa María Blöndal self-released an eponymous debut last year from which two songs are streaming on MySpace. Expect dark and psychedelic, Suicide-inspired electro-punk and, well, serious goodness.

WHO DO YOU THINK EVERYBODY SHOULD HEAR?
Although we spend a lot of time out there, we can’t claim to have heard every band on MySpace, so please feel free to recommend bands – Scandinavian, of course – you think everybody deserve to hear. We do reserve the right not to feature your band(s), but we guarantee to check them out. Drop links to: spacescan (a) allscandinavian.com
