Alternative Advent Calendar Giveaway (NO)
The Norwegian Alternativ Julekalender (Alternative Advent Calendar) is giving away brand new or covers of old Christmas songs every day until December 24, so far with contributions from Death By Unga Bunga, Sleep Party People (DK) and I See Horses among others. Danish retro-rockers Thee Attacks have had a great year with the release of their debut album ‘That’s Mister Attack To You’, extensive touring and great reviews, and they celebrate with Christmas single ‘Let The Snow Fall’ (Right Click + Save As to download). The song was written in their tour bus on the German autobahn and is produced by Søren Oakes Christensen from The Blue Van.

Adrian Recordings Advent Sunday Mixtapes (SE)
One of our favorite Swedish labels, Adrian Recordings, is running an Advent Sunday Mixtape series, and the first two are out and about. The first is compiled by acclaimed Swedish DJ MRTN STHLM BEAT, the second by Danish ditto Mikkel Metal, and both are offered as free downloads. Oh, and since you’re reading this on a Monday a third is most likely already online. Check adrianrecordings.com, where you’ll also find tracklists and more relevant info.

I Am Noxious (DK)
‘The Snowman’ is not really a Christmas song, according to Danish oneman-band I Am Noxious’ label EasyTiger, but since it sports bells, melancholy and a snowman in the title they figured it’s close enough. Which I’m inclined to agree with. Oh, and then it’s free, which is also quite Christmassy in a giving sorta way. Download it with a Right Click + Save As here!

Bedroom Community (ISL)
The international label/artist collective Bedroom Community have made a special Christmas compilation, which they’re giving away for free with every purchase made through the newly redesigned webshop until December 31. The album contains over 60 minutes of remixes, exclusive tracks, unreleased album out-takes and scores from Bedroom Community artists and comes with a “create your own CD” kit, so you can make copies of the CD and give them to your loved ones as the perfect handcrafted Christmas present. So head on over to the Bedroom Community shop, spend a little cash and claim a free compilation.

The Matinee Holiday Soiree EP
Here’s an offering from the American label Matinee Recordings, whose roster include a few Scandinavian acts like Cats On Fire (SF) and Danish duo Northern Portrait and Champagne Riot, both represented on ‘The Matinee Holiday Soiree EP’ with ‘Leave The Trees Alone’ and ‘Xmas Safari’ respectively (the latter in the player).
