SpaceScan09 #3: White Pony and Felix Wickman
Categories: Denmark • Electronica • Features • Rock • Sweden

Another glorious Friday is upon us and as usual we can present a couple of bands from our endless Tour de MySpace. Today a Swedish singer/songwriter who states panic as his main influence and a Danish duo ready to take over dance floors everywhere with a grand take on early 1980s hip hop.
Felix Wickman (SE)
This Swedish singer/songwriter states “panic” as his only influence, and you do sense something sounding like quiet desperation in his universe of basic one-man-and-his-trusted-guitar songs fitted nicely in a curious, dreamy production adding a delicately gloomy edge to the whole thing. Signed to French label StillMuzik Felix Wickman released the EP ‘Dry Hands’ last year which is streamed in full on his MySpace.

White Pony (DK) (Photo)
With all four hands deep in early New York hip hop Lasse Lyngbo (Diefenbach) and Pato Siebenhaar (Trolle/Siebenhaar) are headed straight for dance floors everywhere with their club banging electroglam, perfectly represented by the two songs available (with first single ‘Falling’ featuring Tobias K from The Floor Is Made Of Lava and Land from Decorate.Decorate in the player below). And don’t forget to head over to White Pony’s MySpace and watch the video for ‘K Town Stomp’ featuring Lady Smita if you’ve forgotten – or want to know – how screwed up the 1980s really were. Pump it up!

WHO DO YOU THINK EVERYBODY SHOULD HEAR?
Although we spend a lot of time out there, we can’t claim to have heard every band on MySpace, so please feel free to recommend bands – Scandinavian, of course – you think everybody deserve to hear. We do reserve the right not to feature your band(s), but we guarantee to check them out. Drop links to: spacescan@allscandinavian.com
