SpaceScan11 #17: Why Don’t We Love Lucy and Kokong
Categories: Alternative • Denmark • Features • Norway • Pop • Sweden

The two bands in this Friday’s SpaceScan probably couldn’t be more different even if they did decide to try. First up are Danish/Norwegian pop-club-funk quartet Why Don’t We Love Lucy, and they are followed by the Swedish experimental rock duo Kokong aka Niclas Peterson and Tom Lindström. Check them out and then have a great weekend.

Last month Danish/Norwegian quartet Why Don’t We Love Lucy released their debut EP ‘CPH-OSL’, five shots of catchy and foot moving pop-club-funk which are all found streaming on MySpace. A new EP is in the works (release this fall), but until then here’s the excellent ‘With You’ from the debut.

Kokong (SE)
Niclas Peterson (vocals, drums, guitars, piano & percussions) and Tom Lindström (guitars, bass, synths, Rhodes etc) aka Kokong recently released their debut album ‘Science Loves Pudding’ from which four songs are streaming on MySpace. It’s experimental rock with touches of Radiohead, Soundgarden, Tom Waits, folk and quite a bit more – and really good stuff.

WHO DO YOU THINK EVERYBODY SHOULD HEAR?
Although we spend a lot of time out there, we can’t claim to have heard every band on the www, so please feel free to recommend bands – Scandinavian, of course – you think everybody deserve to hear. We do reserve the right not to feature your band(s), but we guarantee to check them out. Drop links to: spacescan (a) allscandinavian.com
