He says it’s music no one has heard before. ALL SCANDINAVIAN has already said a lot about it, and today we’re happy to announce that we weren’t completely round the bend when we proclaimed Birk Storm’s debut an album set to triumph this year.

Written, produced, recorded and played in its entirety by the crack drummer, ‘I Don’t Care’ is original, off- and especially on-beat, poppy and very, very funky with an impressive number of potential hits as witnessed by the list of recommended tracks below.

As it is with most debuts a few fillers sneak in (‘Side By Side’ is one, ‘Pause For Music’ another), but they are more than outweighed by the good songs. Also, Birk Storm is no great singer, but he makes do with what he’s got (plenty ‘o catchy charisma and sweet beats) and in the process he’s created a universe where his faults become virtues.

Standout tracks include opening hand-clap electro-shuffle ‘Resignation’ followed by ‘I Even Got To Move My Own Feet’, for some reason reminding me a little of British pop singer Just Jack, and deep funk charmer ‘Some People’. ‘The Shine’ has a touch of The Streets going on while the title track brilliantly encapsulate what Birk Storm is all about: Awesome funk, haunting choruses and electrokinky attitude.

He might not care, but I do. And, really, so should you.
