SpaceScan11 #23: Boho Dancer and Bendik
Categories: Alternative • Denmark • Features • Norway

The SpaceScan this Friday is all about B’s, trios, expressive female singers and alternative music (oh, and free downloads). First up are Boho Dancer from Denmark, who do alternative folk-rock, and they are followed by Norway’s Bendik, who create dreamy alternative pop (they are the ones with the freebies). Hope you’ll enjoy both and wish you a grand weekend.

Along with The Eclectic Moniker, featured in a SpaceScan three weeks ago, Boho Dancer is one of three winners of this year’s upcoming competition KarriereKanonen (“the career cannon”), curated by Danish National Radio. The trio (Asker Bjørk, Símun Mohr and Ida Wenoee) have released an eponymous EP with five songs of their enticing alternative folk-rock, which you can stream in full on Facebook.

Bendik (NO)
From Bodø, Norway, comes this trio, fronted in every way by Silje Halstensen, who create dreamy, at times hauntingly beautiful, alternative pop interchanging between the fragile and powerful crescendos – and always carried by Halstensen’s expressive vocal delivery of the lyrics in her local dialect. Bendik have the EP ‘Stille’ out and you can download all three songs on their NRK Urørt profile (“Last Ned” means download).

WHO DO YOU THINK EVERYBODY SHOULD HEAR?
Although we spend a lot of time out there, we can’t claim to have heard every band on the www, so please feel free to recommend bands – Scandinavian, of course – you think everybody deserve to hear. We do reserve the right not to feature your band(s), but we guarantee to check them out. Drop links to: spacescan (a) allscandinavian.com
