The SpaceScan selected two this Friday are from Iceland and Denmark. First up is singer/songwriter Snorri Helgason, who is gearing up to release his second album ‘Winter Sun’, and he is followed by Berlin-based Rangleklods aka Esben Andersen, who offers three free songs from his debut album (no release date yet). Former Sprengjuhöllin main man now singer/songwriter, Snorri Helgason, released his solo debut, ‘I’m Gonna Put My Name On Your Door’, in Iceland in 2009 and in Europe and the US in 2010, and later this year he will release his second, titled ‘Winter Sun’ and produced by Sindri Már Sigfússon (Seabear, Sin Fang), from which first single ‘River’ (in the player) is streaming on Facebook along with four other, older songs. It’s folksy americana at the core, and it’s really rather good…

Rangleklods (DK)
On SPOT Festival a couple of weeks ago I unfortunately missed Berlin-based Dane Rangleklods aka Esben Andersen, who’s been releasing tracks on the www since October last year to a steadily increasing buzz on that very same www. You understand the buzz when diving in to his genre-defying electronic alternative pop, which is equally experimental and catchy. It looks like there’s an album on its way, but until then hit his Facebook page, where you can download three songs and listen to four more.
