SpaceScan11 #29: The Echo Vamper and Succuba
Categories: Denmark • Features • Norway • Rock

The SpaceScan selected two this Friday are all about rock in different robes, presenting Danish duo The Echo Vamper, who work in new wave-punk-blues rock, and quintet Succuba from Norway, who smash heads in with their hard hitting noise-rock. Changing nothing all you have to do is a bit reading, listening and clicking – oh, and enjoying of course – and then have a grand weekend.

The singer is Danish, female and called Iza Mortag Freund. The guitarist is British, male and called James Brook. Together they’re The Echo Vamper, a cool new wave-punk-blues R’n’R duo working on releasing their first single which will be followed later by an EP. Until then check out ‘Lover!’ here, one of four songs streaming on Facebook.

Succuba (NO)
Norwegian quintet Succuba is about ready to release a new EP titled ‘Chief Pointy Head’ plus have a second full length is in the works, following up on their 2008 debut ‘No Arms/No Cake’. Judging by the early mix of ‘Bitty’ on SoundCloud there’s more pleasing, alternative metal ‘n noise-rock to be had when that time comes, but for now here’s ‘Hocum For Dum Dum’ off the debut, which you can stream in full on Gogoyoko.com.
