Sigur Rós won two Icelandic Music Awards

Better late than never it’s been said, so here’s a delayed rundown of the 2009 Icelandic Music Awards as they were given out at a ceremony on February 18.
Sigur Rós (photo) were the top hitter of the night, taking home two awards, while ALL SCANDINAVIAN favorites Agent Fresco were crowned Newcomer of the Year. The full list of winners is as follows:

Also, Mugison received a special grant from Reykjavík/Loftbrú, while Bagglútur had the Internet Presence of the Year according to tonlist.is and were voted the Most Popular Performer of the Year on visir.is. Músíktilraunir was awarded the Samtónn Prize of Excellent Achievement for their decades of dedication to promoting up and coming artists.
