SpaceScan11 #52: Newtimers and Kevin
This SpaceScan not only marks the end of 2011 – it’s also the final installment of the longest running regular feature on ALL SCANDINAVIAN, having presented two-three Scandinavian acts in one easy to digest sitting every Friday since August 29, 2008. It’s been a great and enlightening run for us and hopefully you, but as with all good things this too must come to an end.
The honor of shutting down the SpaceScan is bestowed upon two pretty established acts from Finland and Sweden. First up are Finnish psychedelic rock quartet Kevin and they’re followed by Swedish electropop duo Newtimers. I hope you’ll join me one last time in enjoying the SpaceScan selected two and wish you a splendid New Year’s weekend. See you next year…

It’s been four years since Finnish retro rockers Kevin released their second album ‘Bad Dream Stone Mystery’, but come next year a third, still untitled full length will see the light of day. Building up they’re made a first taste in the shape of psychedelic single ‘A Lonely Place’ available for free download via both Facebook and SoundCloud.
Late November electropop duo Newtimers aka Andreas Cavaco and Tim Lundblad released their first single ‘Falling’ (in the player and on SoundCloud) off their forthcoming debut album ‘Ego’. It’s a sweet ‘n funky pop song that has called for numerous mentions of Chromeo, Prince and Stevie Wonder – mentions I see absolutely no reason to disagree with and thus repeat here…
WHO DO YOU THINK EVERYBODY SHOULD HEAR?
Although we spend a lot of time out there, we can’t claim to have heard every band on the www, so please feel free to recommend bands – Scandinavian, of course – you think everybody deserve to hear. We do reserve the right not to feature your band(s), but we guarantee to check them out. Drop links to: spacescan (a) allscandinavian.com
