Q&A: Highway Child – Rock with visions of a better place
Categories: Denmark • Features • Rock

A couple of weeks back Danish retro-rockers Highway Child released their excellent sophomore effort, ‘Sanctuary Come’, taking us back to the time of peace, love, understanding and colorful drugs.
The quartet are in the midst of an extensive tour, but bassist Christian Norup have found time to give us the inside scoop on one of Denmark’s finest live bands, Highway Child.
Who?
“Me? Us? Sometimes an eight-legged bastard child of rock and blues. At other times just four guys lookin’ for a good time.”
Where?
“Well, here, there and everywhere! Right now drinking coffee and answering questions, but soon on a stage near you.”
What?
“Rock music with visions of a better place, love and everything in between.”
Why?
“Why not? For the love of music and because we really can’t do anything else. When it all comes down to basics, we’re just a bunch of hippies having fun and enjoying the fact that we can make people happy with our music.”
