SLKJ: The Angel Of Death
Categories: Finland • Pop • Tracks

Back in 2009 I was quite excited about Vuk aka Finnish-American singer Emily Cheeger’s second album, ‘The Plains’, which made it on our 20 Best Albums hit-list. Since then she’s started a new synthpop project with Junnu Alajuuma (Kap Kap) called SLKJ, which is short for Suomi-Leijona ja Kuollut Jänis and – according to my musical brother in arms Eduardo and his blog Glue.fi – meaning something along the lines of “the Finnish lion and the dead bunny”, and they have three tracks out on SoundCloud so far. The latest is the ominously titled ‘The Angel Of Death’ with an elegant nod to Little Richard and ‘Keep A Knockin’’ in the end.
