Ólafur Arnalds record and release seven free songs in seven days
Categories: Electronica • Iceland • Tracks

Acclaimed Icelandic neoclassical composer Ólafur Arnalds is a busy little bee. He’s got a grand solo career and new minimal techno duo Kiasmos (with Janus Rasmussen of Bloodgroup) going on, and now he has embarked on what he calls a “very challenging, but fun” project to record and release one song per day for seven days. Starting today.
The collection is titled ‘Found Songs’ as it is based on several lost and found musical sketches and ideas, and each track will be created and released within 24 hours and made exclusively available online as a free download. Ólafur Arnalds says about the project:
“The songs will be different from what’s on my albums, they will be short, mostly just made up from piano. Something to keep me going. Feel free to send me hatemail if I miss out a day!”
‘Found Songs’ will be made available for download at foundsongs.erasedtapes.com.
