Q&A: Delay Trees – For freedom, beauty and the fun of it
Categories: Features • Finland • Rock

My April got off to a really good start when the Finnish indiepop quartet Delay Trees emailed me their amazing song ‘Tarantula/Holding On’, taken from their seven song debut EP ‘Soft Construction’.
If you haven’t already you must check it out, but first here’s Delay Trees spokesman Rami Vierula giving us the gospel according to the W’s.
Who?
“Four boys trying to conduct emotions through instruments into the listeners ears.”
Where?
“Southern Finland; windy Helsinki and quiet Hämeenlinna.”
What?
“The glow of a lamp post at night, squashed insects on a windshield, writings on a shoreline that the waves wash off… Our music’s about anything and everything.”
Why?
“The sounds bubbling inside our heads wouldn’t give us any peace if we didn’t let them out as music… Because of freedom, beauty and, of course, for the fun of it.”
