Q&A: Culkin – Frisbee golf, skrees, skrongs and kismet
Categories: Features • Rock • Sweden

In our fifteenth SpaceScan this year we had the pleasure of presenting Swedish shoegaze quartet Culkin to you. The Stockholm outfit live high on a strong love for the 1990s guitar wall-of-sounds indierock and today singer and guitarist Mathias Rask-Andersen let us in on their whereabouts, their gear, fate and much more.
Who?
“Mathias on vocals and a Squier Japan Telecaster and Marshall super lead 100w, Jonas on vocals and mostly vintage Jazzmasters and Hiwatt amplification, Joel, lately on his two Duff McKagan special editions, 200w Hiwatt amplification, Pontus on some vintage 60s drums that he got for almost nothing.”
Where?
“Handen, south of Stockholm. Either the terminal or the frisbee golf course if weather permits.”
What?
“Indie. Loud stuff. Hooks. Solos. Skrees and skrongs. Kir. Purpose. Guitarrs, guitarrs, guitarrs.”
Why?
“Fate, destiny, kismet, meant to be’s. All of that and more.”
More on Culkin, their gear and fate on MySpace.
