Q&A: Kiasmos – Deep, bubbling techno from within
Categories: Electronica • Features • Iceland

A couple of weeks back, in the ominously numbered SpaceScan 13, Icelandic duo Kiasmos played one of the two leading roles. A new project by neoclassical composer Ólafur Arnalds and Bloodgroup main man Janus Rasmussen, Kiasmos have set out to make their mark on the techno scene and here is the latter telling us why – and of course what, where and who.
Who?
“Two guys with very similar tastes in electronic music and just happen to like to nod their heads to a groovy beat… And sometimes even bust into a swirl of fiery dancing!”
Where?
“At their apartments in Reykjavik. And sometimes in Bloodgroup’s main studio where they like to make a lot of noise.”
What?
“Deep, bubbling techno from somewhere within.”
Why?
“Probably because there’s no way not to. This is something they find very natural to do. Like a first instinct…”
