SpaceScan09 #18: Sebastian Lind and Norma
Categories: Denmark • Features • Pop • Rock • Sweden

Swedes taking you on a horrifically pleasing ride to the darker regions of your soul and intriguingly catchy singer/songwriter/electro/jazz pop from a young Dane is what ALL SCANDINAVIAN has got for you in our SpaceScan this week. The first is courtesy of Norma, by way of a chance meeting on Twitter, the latter served by pop prodigy Sebastian Lind.
Sebastian Lind (DK) (Photo)
Sounding like a healthy crossbreed of his compatriots Birk Storm and VETO Copenhagen based Sebastian Lind (20) is a natural when it comes to pop. His songs twist and twirl in an intriguingly catchy blend of singer/songwriter acoustics, crackling electro and jazz feels, kept together by his moving vocal which adds a longing melancholy to the experience. Keep your eyes and ears on this one – e.g. on his MySpace.

Norma (SE)
Long, meditative progressions torn by mind-ripping noise-rock crescendos is what this Swedish trio do – and do incredibly well. If you allow yourself to get lost in Norma’s bleak universe, presented by two songs from debut EP ‘1’ and two from their first full length ‘Book Of Norma’ (out November last year), you’re in for a horrifically pleasing ride to the darker regions of the soul.

WHO DO YOU THINK EVERYBODY SHOULD HEAR?
Although we spend a lot of time out there, we can’t claim to have heard every band on MySpace, so please feel free to recommend bands – Scandinavian, of course – you think everybody deserve to hear. We do reserve the right not to feature your band(s), but we guarantee to check them out. Drop links to: spacescan (a) allscandinavian.com
