So, these girls are lesbians. Not that it should matter, but they’re rather proud and loud about it, so I figured they would appreciate a quick mention. With that outta the way we can get cracking on what it’s all about: Fagget Fairys’ debut album.

Composed of Sarajevo-born model and handball prodigy, MC ENA aka Elena Carli Cosovic, and body therapist, ArtRebel and more, DJ Sensimilla aka Carla Cammilla Hjort, the duo have been the talk of towns everywhere since first single and title track ‘Feed The Horse’ began circulating among DJ and blog tastemakers last year.

Apart from it being an explicit salute to lesbian lovemaking the song is a grand electro-banger, but it is when they add MC ENA’s Balkan roots, dubstep and dub to the mix they really become interesting. Both on the home stereo and the club dance floors that has played a big part in shaping the duo’s musical output over the past couple of years.

Lyrically we’re not talking Dostojevskij (at least when it comes to those in English), but less have always done it in this part of the music sphere. Three songs, ‘Oci’, ‘Negori’ and ‘Uzmi’, are in Bosnian and I can and will not pass any judgment on the lyrical level of these, but they do add tasty spice to the affair.

The first is also one of the standout songs on ‘Feed The Horse’. Others are the quirky dub second track ‘All I Want’, ‘Watch My Back’ which sports one of the best choruses on the album, closer ‘This Thing I Do’ (more deep ‘n dark dub) and funky opener ‘Roll The Dice’, all making Fagget Fairys’ first effort a cool and definite part of this and following summer’s soundtrack.
