Q&A: Jaqueline – We know rock’n’roll
Categories: Features • Norway • Rock

At the turn of April I had the pleasure of talking up ‘Cape Horn’, the majestically melodic third effort from Norwegian retro-rock outfit Jaqueline, and as usual I’ve invited the band to have their say without me interfering. Morten Wærhaug (lead vocals, guitar) accepted and here are the answers to the Who, the Where, the What and not least the Why.
Who?
“JAQUELINE – Norway’s finest power trio, founded in 1998, sporting more than a decade of rock’n’roll, featuring Morten Wærhaug (lead vocals, guitar), Marius Drogsås Hagen (vocals, bass) and Bjarne Ryen Berg (Drums).”
Where?
“Camp Jaqueline is located in Nydalen, Oslo. One can argue, though, that home is where the heart is. If so, Jaqueline is located in the small, rural town of Elverum, in southeast Norway. Elverum is the place where we grew up together. Jaqueline was founded in Elverum. Nothing beats the endless forest…”
What?
“Classic rock and old school heavy metal, with a pinch of pop harmonies. Larger-than-life drums, enormous bass sounds and 70s rhythm guitar. And lots of vocal harmonies.”
Why?
“Because we know our rock’n’roll!”
