Video: The Informations – Strange Habits
Categories: Denmark • Rock • Videos

They describe themselves as the “most hyped Japanese/Swedish indie band”, they being Quinx, Abraham, swordsman Andres Gayl and Samuel Beckings aka The Informations. It is centered around a Dane, though, and if we judge by the sounds on their MySpace I would say an OK guess would be that this Dane is Kristian Leth, one third of The William Blakes and label boss at Speed Of Sound who will release The Informations’ debut, ‘Noah’s Ark’, late 2009.
Another indication of the true identity of The Informations is the use of footage from the film ‘Motion Picture’, made in 1970 by Mr. Leth’s father, poet, filmmaker and author etc, Jørgen Leth. The film features Danish tennis legend and poet Torben Ulrich (yes, the dad of Metallica drummer, Lars) as subject in a study of motion. And with that I will leave you to enjoy this great video and the equally great song, ‘Strange Habits’.

Met Kristian Leth Thursday and he firmly denied my theory above. Instead it seems to be a project by another third of The William Blakes and Speed Of Sound CO-owner Frederik Nordsø (according to Danish music mag Gaffa), counting members of Choir Of Young Believers, Oh No Ono, Chimes And Bells and Jong Pang plus producer Mikkel Holtoug. So, guess that’s what you get from trying to be clever…
Indeed it’s Frederik Nordsø. His girls and my son are in the same kindergarten – so I asked him a couple of months ago ;o)
Sounds like I should just go straight to you before attempting free thinking (or get kids of my own strategically placed in kindergartens around Copenhagen) ;o) But thanks for confirming…
