Q&A: The Shitsez – Gotta play, sing, dance, show off and be merry
Categories: Features • Norway • Urban

Almost precisely a month back we featured Norwegian banging electro outfit The Shitsez in our SpaceScan, and because that’s how we roll we’ve had front girls and founding mothers, Caroline Ingeberg and Jeanette M. Larsen, give us the inside story on their influences and the band as well as their answer to the ultimate question: Why?
Who?
“Hello! We are The Shitsez. The band is Caroline Ingeberg and Jeanette M. Larsen (vocalists and founders of the band), Marcus Trana on drums, Lasse Saubrey on bass and Svein Arne Egenæs on guitar. We also work close with Sailors Production. All band members have different taste in music, that’s why our sound is: The Shitsez!”
Where?
“We are based in Oslo, Norway, and find that quite nice. We would like to be based all over the world though – hope to see that day.”
What?
“Cheerleader-rock-electro/hip hop with a hint of pop. We’re influenced by everything from Santogold to The Killers to Slayer to Erykah Badu… The list could go on and on… Seriously, on and on…”
Why?
“Well, why? Because we have to! We have music inside – it has to get out! We gotta play, sing, dance, show off and be merry! And why not?”
