Originally known as Youth And Student Travel when they formed in 2007 Swedish quintet YAST have released three DIY EPs and three singles before their debut full length landed about a week ago (all singles, ‘Stupid, ‘Believes’ and ‘Strangelife’, are found here as well). With the famous Scandinavian melancholy as foundation and feel the five tackle love, loneliness and confusion in lo-fi dream-indie robes, and while my attention sometimes slip through the 45 minutes it’s no doubt an impressive album and not least debut.
