Moto Boy: Moto Boy
Categories: Albums • Pop • Sweden

If there’s one thing that the Swedes have always been great at it’s pop, and it’s no different with androgynous one-man-band Moto Boy aka Oskar Humlebo on his eponymous debut album. His stunning vocal is the focal point of the 11 songs that lyrically strikes the nerve of everybody who remember what love was like in the teens. Something that has given him a very dedicated fan base among, well yes, teenagers.
Born in Swedish village Färila in 1980 Oskar Humlebo discovered music at age eight when experiencing a boys choir rehearse in a London cathedral. Later he got turned on to the guitar that is also the main instrument on ‘Moto Boy’, backed only by Gustav Landbecker on drums and bits of bass and piano here and there. Written, produced and recorded by Humlebo himself, ‘Moto Boy’ is pleasantly naive at times and most of the way really good pop, especially in singles ‘Young Love’ and ‘Blue Motorbike’ plus ‘Ride My Wild Heart’ and ‘U’.
