Our SpaceScan this Friday presents two bands aiming at two very different places. Danish disco rock trio YUNO are headed straight for partying dance floors, while the Swedish singer/songwriter Le Days aka Daniel Hedin is headed straight for your emotional apparatus – and there is a good chance he won’t miss. Thus, I leave you to read, listen and head on to their corners of MySpace.

YUNO (DK)
They have described themselves as a mix between Figurines and Wolfmother, although the latter is more implicit. Throw in a little Bloc Party and add a dash of disco and you’ll have a pretty good idea of where this Danish trio is aiming with their angular guitar riffs and shouty vocals, i.e. partying dance floors. YUNO have a three song EP out which is streaming on MySpace along with three other cracking tracks.

Honesty. And necessity. Definitely necessity. Those would be keywords when trying to describe Swedish singer/songwriter Le Days aka Daniel Hedin’s music. Emotion another. He’s no great musician, technically, and some of the songs on MySpace sound at first like half-done sketches, but they’re out there because he has to – and he really makes you feel that. Which makes him a compelling listen.
