Q&A: Jarle Bernhoft – All about Patti Smith
Categories: Features • Norway • Rock

When we kicked off our Who, Where, What and Why interview series in January we really didn’t know what to expect when letting artists have their say completely free from any journalistic interference. Fortunately it’s proved to work quite well (at least we think so) with just about as many variations of answers and interpretations of the questions as artists asked.
Today Norwegian soul man Jarle Bernhoft is up and he’s decided to use the space to not talk about him or his debut ‘Ceramik City Chronicles’. Instead he gives us his lowdown on American singer, poet and much more, Patti Smith.
Who?
“Patti Smith!”
Where?
“Everywhere. You can take her out, even when I take her home.”
What?
“Her music, her words, her blurbs, her explosions, her snarl, her ‘fuck artness let’s danceness’, her ability to inspire in general.”
Why?
“Because since I checked out her records, I realized that some things are indeed better matured. It gives hope for the future, in both temporal directions.”
