Continuing the “completely unrelated” theme set by last week’s SpaceScan, this Friday’s Tour de MySpace presents ultra cool hip hop ‘n electronica and grandiose indierock by Danish duo The Works and Finnish quartet On Volcano respectively. As usual we expect nothing more of you than a read, a listen and perhaps a click.

The Works (DK)
Danish producer duo The Works aka Twelve Beats and Terry Tester (also Vincent Van Go Go) excel with an ultra cool, laid back cross over between hip hop ‘n electronica. It’s excellently crackling, freakish beats for the mind rather than the booty and an acid jazz feel that can be heard on their recently released debut four track ‘Yokohama EP’ which is streamed in full on MySpace (the first four songs) along with four other.

Last year this Finnish quartet released their DIY debut EP ‘My Sleep Was Filled With Dreams’ (which you can buy for just 1€ via their MySpace) and finally I’ve found the time to let you in on them. It’s indierock with a lot of show, a little shoegazing and bright shining pop underneath the murky waters, and a song like ‘Ride The Wolf’ have me looking forward to On Volcano’s debut full length, due out later this year.
