The SpaceScan selected two this Friday are Norwegian one-man band Vinter In Hollywood aka Aleksander Vinter, who creates catchy electropop spiced up with among other things French house and disco, and Finnish outfit K-X-P, who caters the darker regions of the soul with their awesome mix of kraut-, synth- and noise-rock. Finnish outfit K-X-P, aka main man and Annie producer/co-songwriter Timo Kaukolampi (Larry And The Lefthanded, Op:l Bastards), Tuomo Puranen (bass and keyboards) and rotating drummers Anssi Nykänen and Tomi Leppanen, released their eponymous debut late last summer. Building on repetitive and hypnotic synth/bass/drum beats they excite with an awesome mix of kraut, noise, rock, pop and a little disco, nodding heads to acts like Suicide and Neu!. Behind the moniker Vinter In Hollywood we find Aleksander Vinter, a Norwegian child of the 1980s both literally and musically. His latest track, ‘Synthesizer Love’, sounds like a joint effort between Cameo and Michael Jackson, and the neon decade is always present in his electropop, spiced up with funk, French house, disco and more.
