SpaceScan11 #33: Sturle Dagsland and Ikons
Categories: Alternative • Features • Norway • Rock • Sweden

It’s Friday and time for another SpaceScan, this one presenting Swedish seven-piece Ikons, who do psychedelic krautrock, and Norway’s Sturle Dagsland, a 20 year-old who do alternative pop with a hint of Mew in vocal and music (he’s also got two tracks available for download). As usual all you have to do is read, listen, click and then have a splendid weekend.
Ikons (SE)
Hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden, seven-piece Ikons (six musicians and one visual artist) released their eponymous debut album last year with a followup in the works. It’s psychedelic krautrock, dang awesome and you can stream the whole shebang through their label Service.

From Stavanger, Norway, comes 20 year-old Sturle Dagsland, who’s currently recording his debut EP. It’s alternative pop in semi-electronic robes with a touch of Jonas “Mew” Bjerre in Dagsland’s crystalline vocal, and you can download the two great tracks ‘Dollhouse’ (in the player) and ‘White Witch’ on NRK Urørt (“Last Ned” is download).
